Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)

A contemporary arts centre in Bangkok. Art, music, film, design and cultural/educational events take place in its exhibition and performance spaces. The centre includes cafes, commercial art galleries, bookshops, craft shops, and an art library. It is intended as a venue for cultural exchange, giving Bangkok an operational base on the international art scene.

Jim Thompson House & Art Centre

The Bangkok Home and Asian Art Collection of the late James H.W. Thompson, also known as the "Thai Silk King". His house is one of Bangkok's foremost architectural treasures: a clever combination of traditional wooden Thai pavilions decorated with an impressive collection of Asian arts. With its adjoining boutique, art space and restaurant, it's a lifestyle destination, not just a museum.

Entrance fee: Adult 200 baht, visitors under 22 years 100 baht (ID required), free entry for children under 10 years of age when accompanied by an adult.

MBK Center

A one-stop-shopping destination under the concept, MBK MBCool (MAX & BEYOND COOL) for a new and modern lifestyle of people. The center contains around 2,000 shops and 150 restaurants spread across eight floors with a wide variety of merchandise, services and activities for both Thai and foreign customers. Siam Square

Siam Square extends to the South of Rama 1 Road, and is home to individual boutiques mostly selling affordable, but carefully selected fashion. So if your tastes are a little edgier and you can stand the heat, this is definitely a flavorful option. Inside, you'll also find a number of cafes & restaurants.

FOOD & DRINKS

Stadium One & Bantadthong Street Food

Stadium One is the contemporary mall with sporting goods stores & fitness centers, plus street-food eateries. There are local favourites, food destinations, dessert places and laidback bars on Bantadthong Street. Thai-food, Chinese Mala, Japanese delis, fried chicken, noodle places, congee, seafood buffets, Korean barbecue, — whatever cuisine you’re craving, even featured restaurant in the Michelin Guide, there’s one you can walk to.

Most of the shops open all day while the rest operate only in the evening and close at midnight.

Coco Walk

Coco Walk is a lively little alleyway that’s ideally set up for Thai-style barhopping. This small alley of live music bars, pubs and restaurants lies in the shadow of the Ratchathewi BTS Skytrain Station.

BANGKOK FAMOUS TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Erawan Shrine (Four Faced Buddha)

Erawan Shrine or, Four-faced Buddha is one of the most popular Hindu shrines in Bangkok which houses a statue of Phra Phrom, the god of creation also known as Brahma god who is full of kindness, mercy, sympathy and impartiality. These four virtues are represented by his four faces, each of which symbolizes the 4 directions-north, south, east, and west; therefore, he can vision and protect everything in both human world and heaven. He can get rid of difficulty and obstacles and encourage fortune and success for the worshippers with respectful mind.

The Erawan Shrine attracts locals and tourists to pray for good fortune, success and fulfilling their wishes. Visitors to the Shrine make ceremonial offerings ranging from floral garlands and food to fruit and wooden elephants and classical Thai dance troupes are also hired throughout the day by worshippers at the Shrine to see their prayers answered.

The Temple of the Emerald Buddha
(Wat Phra Kaew)

Wat Phra Kaew (known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or locally as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Thailand. Located in the historic centre of Bangkok and within the precincts of the Grand Palace, the temple enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade.

Many important state and royal ceremonies are held within the temple each year, presided by the king in person and attended by government officials. This makes the temple the nation's preeminent place of worship and a national shrine for the monarchy and the state. Throughout the years, each king has donated sacred and valuable objects to the temple, making it a treasury as well.

The temple complex comprises various buildings for specific religious purposes built in a variety of Thai architectural styles, while still adhering to the traditional principles of Thai religious architecture.

Chatuchak Market

Chatuchak (also known as JJ Market) is the largest market in Bangkok with more than 8,000 stalls divided into 27 projects that are full of every kind of product, every type, every grade, and every price available. Shopping for various items cannot be done in 1 day whether it's new and second-hand clothes, miscellaneous products, ready-to-cook food, fresh food, fruits and vegetables, pottery, ceramics, local products, wicker accessories to pets, etc. In addition, it is one of the largest types of flower shops in Bangkok. Also for those who like antiques and rare items, you will definitely not be disappointed here because it's a source of antiques and has collections of rare books as well. For those who like to walk around the night market, the atmosphere is cool.

It's recommended to come to the Chatuchak Night Market every Friday from 10 p.m. onwards.

Chinatown Yaowarat Road

Yaowarat Road is known by tourists worldwide as a source of popular street food. There are restaurants both inside buildings and set up along the road, all kinds of international dishes to choose from. This includes savoury dishes and various desserts, as well as a market selling fresh food and foods that are ingredients used for cooking and the selling of colourful Chinese clothes. In addition, Yaowarat Road is the venue for important Chinese festivals, e.g., Chinese New Year (during January) and the Vegetarian Festival (around October). Also, on this road, there are religious sites of many religions, e.g., Theravada-Mahayana Buddhism, Christian, Muslim, and shrines of many Chinese deities, including many old buildings with beautiful architecture.

Icon Siam

Icon Siam is a hypermodern and iconic shopping center on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, offers 6 floors of shopping. Fashion brands take up the first 3 floors, with a nice mix of casual brands, as well as Thai designer outlets and international haute couture.

For most people, the 2 most interesting shopping options are the Takashimaya department store from Japan and the Apple store. Both are nationally exclusive to Icon Siam. Takashimaya has brought many Japanese labels to Bangkok for the 1st time, along with some tasty food offerings. The glass-fronted Apple store is cool and spacious, with a huge outdoor section offering sweeping views of downtown Bangkok. As you head up, you'll find sections dedicated to children, homeware, technology, banking, and leisure.

Don't miss Siam Sook, the ground-floor floating market, which has impressive features such as temples, long-tail boats, and Thai pavilions. You can enjoy traditional Thai snacks, shop for regional handicrafts and generally get the floating market experience without leaving the mall. There are also Thai cultural performances and massage parlours.

Jodd Fairs Night Market

Jodd Fairs is located behind Central Rama 9 Department Store and recently opened a new branch at Dan Neramit, a formal theme park. It is famous night market in Bangkok that collects many products, e.g., clothing, decorations, handmade products, food and beverages, and street food. Tourists will have fun choosing to shop for different products and enjoy the deliciousness of a variety of food. This market is divided into three zones comprising an activity zone which is the main area of the market. The atmosphere is decorated to match different festivals to add colour to the place. It is also an interesting check-in photo spot for visitors. Next is the fashion store zone with stalls selling clothing, bags, shoes, vintage items, etc. at reasonable prices. The final zone is a source of street food, both Thai and international. There are various types of snacks and main meals for tourists to choose to eat as they like.
